The scenes and setting were $55.00. They are really wonderful. The glossy pictures are pasted onto foam board, so it's more sturdy than just cardboard, but the sides can get dinged up. They have been retired for a long time now, and since Josefina, Kit and Kaya have been released since they were retired and they didn't get them, I'm reasonably sure Nellie won't either. For Nellie, it really doesn't matter, since Samantha's scenes would work in most cases for Nellie. The new paper dolls come with a small, folded background with scenes on both sides. The pictures are very much like in the old scenes and settings, and give a little idea of what scenes and settings for the newer dolls would have been like. If they make Nellie paper dolls, it will be interesting to see what 2 scenes come with her dolls-maybe the orphanage and the Ryland's yard.
As far as Felicity's being so expensive, what of hers isn't? I think they just command higher prices because her things are viewed as more collectible and therefor valuable. The books are large, but can be stored easily under a bed.
